Israeli fresh produce supplier Galilee Export has started its first lychee exports of the season.
Oded Jacobson, Galilee Export’s chief executive, is confident of the lychees' quality despite lower volumes than usual.
He explained: “There is 30-40 per cent less than the usual yield in Israel, but the quality is very good.
"We are going to export 250 tonnes of lychees to markets in Europe, South Africa and the United States; we are the first in Israel to begin exporting.”
