Israeli exporter Agrexco has reported that the first pickings of Early Sweet grapes took place this week,

An estimated 3,000 tonnes of the first variety of the Israeli grape season will come to Europe, with the UK receiving “a good quantity” of this.

Oded Jacovson, general manager for Agrexco UK, said: "The quality is very good, with high brix levels - this, together with the good weather, makes for a promising season."

The next variety to arrive in the UK will be Sugraone, with Thompson set to come on stream later in the summer.
