Israel's Ministry of Agriculture announced it will help Gush Katif farmers move their greenhouses to the new settlements planned to be established within the Green Line after the pull-out from their present settlements in the Gaza Region.
Teams of volunteers from the United Kibbutz Movement will dismantle, move and re-assemble the greenhouses in the new locations, all co-ordinated by the ministry's Land Planning and Development Department.
The ministry called on farmers "to take advantage of this plan, aimed at helping them continue with production of vegetables, flowers and fresh herbs, without any delays". There are about 150 hectares of greenhouses operated by Gush Katif farmers, growing fresh produce, mainly for export.
