Speaking at the 57th Oxford Farmers Conference, an event that brought together some of the leading fresh produce growers and suppliers, William Burgess managing director of Isleham Fresh Produce said: 'Both retailer needs and consumer demands play a significant role in the produce we now grow.

'By working closely with our customers, and carrying out extensive consumer research, we are able to ensure our produce fulfils everyone's requirements.' Jason Burgess, md of Rustler Produce (pictured left with William), added: 'By speaking at the conference we hope we have shown others in the industry that it is possible to change by thinking outside the box and taking that first step. We believe our strategy is right and that we have made a good business decision. There is still further work to do but we are definitely heading in the right direction'
