Asda fruit supplier International Produce Ltd (IPL) hosted its first logistics conference in Leeds recently.
The event brought all the fresh produce supplier’s key logistics partners together to hear IPL directors present an overview of the business and the company’s growth plans for the future. Each of the delegates then visited IPL's Normanton facility, an Asda store and an Asda distribution facility.
The evening event included an awards ceremony recognising the contribution of IPL's logistics partners to its business. Jason Kelly, IPL operations director, said: “Logistics plays a vital role in our operating model and it is important for us to understand how we can support each other in delivering that strategy.”
More than 80 service providers attended and Kelly said the conference was so successful that IPL plans on making it an annual event.
