On November 6, HJG Salome, general manager of Intergreen bv, received the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) “declaration of conformity” from Dr S Pearson, quality manager Marks & Spencer.

The presentation took place at the Dutch Flower Group's stand at the International Horti Fair in Amsterdam. Dr Pearson presented it on behalf of Th de Groot, managing director MPS. The document, issued by MPS, declares that the company officially complies with the requirements laid down by the ETI in its Base Code.

This certificate is the third one obtained by Intergreen, following its award of Florimark quality and the NEN-ISO 9002 certification.

Intergreen specialises in supplying tailor-made, ready for sale, flowers, bouquets and plants to supermarkets in the UK and across Europe. To assure these supermarkets that production and trade is ethically responsible, Intergreen asked MPS to assess it against the requirements of the ETI Base Code.

ETI was specifically set up for traders supplying the UK market. It is an initiative by companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and trade unions in the UK that aims to guarantee working conditions at companies which operate within the chain.
