David Stormonth technical manager for Interfarm (UK) Ltd said: 'Sprays need to provide protection for all leaf surfaces during this crucial mid-season period. The choice of blight fungicide at this point in the programme can make a critical difference to the successful prevention of tuber blight.' Interfarm recommends Electis as a good protectant. Stormonth said:'It fits well into the mid-season and late season spray window. Growers should consider integrating the product into their programmes from now on.' Electis is recommended on all varieties of potatoes at spray intervals of seven to 14 days with a dose rate of 1.8kg a hectare in 200 – 600 litres of water per hectare.
