Morrisons, Florette and Thanet Earth are just some of the major industry names to have signed up to speak at this year’s revamped Re:fresh conference on May 17.

A fresh new incisive and interactive format sees a series of leading industry figures making presentations on the theme of Innovation and its role in driving the modern industry forward.

The conference, at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel, will be opened by Zhou Xiaoming, minister counsellor of the economic and commercial counsellor’s office at the Chinese embassy in the UK. Zhou was previously director general of the Shenzhen Bureau of Foreign Investment and head of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines & Health Products.

After lunch a second session focuses on Innovation in Retail, with Morrisons’ head of produce buying Andy Garton outlining how the supermarket is reinventing the fresh produce aisle. A third session looking at Innovation in Brands features Neil Sanderson, MD of Florette and Thanet Earth’s communications manager Judy Whittaker, among others.

Each session will feature a Q&A session where delegates can put their questions to the speakers. Further speakers will be announced shortly.

Nigel Jenney, FPC CEO and Re:fresh partner, said: “In these challenging times it is through the innovative approaches of companies and individuals that fresh produce businesses can prosper. Our industry has many examples of innovative work, and the quality of speakers makes this an unmissable event.”

Tickets and further information about the conference, which runs from 12-4pm on 17 May, are available from www.refresh.uk.com.
