Fruit drink producer Innocent is claiming the top spot when it comes to smoothie brands.
The manufacturer said according to AC Nielsen it now has a market share of 41 per cent and a turnover of £16 million, making it the biggest smoothie brand in the UK. It said figures showed its nearest competitor is PJs, with a market share of 28 per cent and turnover of £12m.
Richard Reed, co-founder, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our position as number one branded smoothie. In a fast growing and competitive market, it hasn’t been easy.
“However, we have stuck to our principles of making absolutely unadulterated drinks that give you your recommended daily intake of fruit and consumers have responded to that.”
