Innocent boost for berries

Berries will be a first choice for Innocent smoothies this spring and summer, according to the firm.

The smoothie of the month for April is a blend of pomegranates and raspberries, while cherries and strawberries will feature in the June smoothie.

The first breakfast thickie - made of blueberries, blackberries, yoghurt and oats - is the newest addition to the range.

The low-fat fruit drink - billed as “breakfast in a bottle” - hit the shops in March.

Hannah Cameron at Innocent told FPJ: “We chose blueberries and blackberries for their great nutritional properties, such as vitamin C and antioxidants, and because they taste so delicious with the yogurt and oats.”

The 250ml bottles, made from 100 per cent corn starch and completely compostable, are available from Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose priced £1.75-£1.99.
