Organised by University of Cambridge Research Services Division and supported by Cambridge Enterprise, the next Cambridge Horizon Seminar will be entitled Foodomics: Why we eat what we eat and what’s on the menu. Due to take place on Tuesday June 19, the seminar is aimed at companies involved in food production and processing, health sector professionals, public health policy makers, food and agricultural scientists and anyone who has a strong interest in food related research.

Held at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge, the event will investigate improving the nutritional values in food and how food science can challenge our understanding of what we eat and how we prepare it, and as a result, the better food choices that can be made. The topic will be addressed by leading researchers and industry experts including Dr Sadaf Farooqi, department of clinical biochemistry, professor Martin Jones, department of archaeology, professor Sheila Bingham, MRC Dunn Human Nutrition Unit and Dr Ian Wilson from the department of chemical engineering.
