Impressive line up for tomato conference

The fifth Syngenta Tomato Conference has an impressive line up of speakers ready for the two-day event. This year the conference will run from May 19-21 in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands.

Speakers include Syngenta Seeds’ Massimo Enzo, marketing director for vegetables, Onno Franse, programme director healthy living - Royal Ahold, Anneke Ammerlaan, food watcher and advisor, Don Mottram, professor of food chemistry at the University of Reading, and Taizo Sano, managing director of Kagome’s fresh tomato business unit Kagome Co Ltd in Japan, among others.

Master chef Angélique Schmeinck will also take delegates through some of her recipes, and Britt Burton-Freeman, director of health promoting foods at the Illinois Institute of Technology will give a talk.

Far more than a convention, the Tomato Conference is a meeting point where professionals and the sector’s main international leaders can come together to find new solutions and business opportunities.

In addition to the Conference Programme, those attending will have the opportunity to take part in two different workshops designed to demonstrate inspirational techniques applied to food preparation with different tomato varieties, as well as offering an assortment of tips for taste. Through these workshops and a tasting lunch, the Tomato Conference will show its participants that not all tomatoes are suitable for the same recipes. The selection of the right tomato for each occasion makes it possible to diversify both supply and business.
