The Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD) has announced the 2004 Food Industry Awards will take place on October 19 and entries are now welcome from companies.

The awards are open to any company in the food and grocery industry and previous entrants have ranged from local producers, large retailers, international suppliers, individual young managers and packaging companies. The charity’s ceo Joanne Denney-finch OBE said: “Whether an individual or a company enter, the Food Industry awards will give you industry wide recognition, media coverage and the opportunity to network with the big names in food and grocery.”

A spokesperson for last year’s winner of the outstanding small business award, Babylicious, said: “We were delighted to win… awards like this really do put you on the map. We are now expanding with a new team in place and financial backing to put us into significant growth this year.”
