Leading potato supplier Greenvale AP pulled in the crowds at BP 2005, offering samples of its newly launched variety Mayan Gold to visitors of the at its stand.

Guests queued relentlessly to taste the golden spud, choosing either a sample of Mayan Gold butter-free mash or uniquely spiral cut and deep-fried potato, which had been coated in a variety of flavourings.

Since its launch, the potato has enjoyed a high profile success and Craig Sankey, marketing manager, said: “People are amazed with the mash. They can’t believe it doesn’t have any butter in it so we’ve had to show them. It’s been extremely successful for us.”
