The HTA is asking its members in Scotland for their views on how and when the Single Payment Scheme for nurseries should be brought in.

The association’s director of business development, Tim Briercliffe, said: "The Scottish Government is consulting on the implementation of the Single Farm Payment north of the border and we are keen to hear from members as to how they would like to see this happen.

“The consultation covers a range of issues including what payment rate should be set and when the scheme should open for claimants and we need to hear the views of members by the end of September. Members interested in receiving a copy of the HTA consultation paper should contact the HTA Information Centre."

Briercliffe added: "We are expecting a similar consultation paper from Defra for the rest of the UK in the very near future, which we will also be responding to."
