Hot topics set for PotatoEurope

Attendees of PotatoEurope 2010 are to discuss a range of issues from across the potato trade at the German event.

The event is being held in Bockerode near Hanover on 8 and 9 September. It is hosted by German agricultural society DLG and the German potato industry association UNIKA, along with K+S Kali GmbH.

UNIKA has organised specialist forums on production quality, innovation in plant breeding and optimising planting machinery and equipment among others.

After hearing talks by experts from the various fields, visitors will have an opportunity to exchange ideas and form opinions in the subsequent discussion sessions

All links in the potato chain will be represented at the show from planting, through plant protection, fertilising, harvesting, storage and processing, as well as trading and marketing.

PotatoEurope premiered in Germany in 2006. “We should like to follow up the major success of 2006 and even surpass it in 2010," said Martin Umhau, chairman of the board of UNIKA. “The expert forums will bring new and perceptible momentum into the German potato market.”
