The hottest commercially grown chilli pepper will be exclusively sold at Tesco stores.
The heat of the Bedfordshire Super Naga, measured in Scoville Units, clocks in at a scorching 1.12 million Scovilles.
The pepper has been produced by Bedfordshire farmer Salvatore Genovese who also launched the notorious Bhut Jolokia in the UK; a chilli pepper 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce.
“Customers will enjoy the chilli’s fruity flavour which matches its searing heat levels,” said Tesco' chilli buyer Gethyn Formby.
