Promoter Hortyfruta introduced its Andalusian fresh produce logo of origin at its first Fruit Logistica, last week.

The organisation represents the production and marketing of fruit and vegetables from Andalalucia, in the south of Spain. The produce from this area has been exported for over 30 years, but now Hortyfruta is set to launch a new logo, which is aimed at communicating with consumers outside of Spain. The new “Lola” logo is a certification of origin and Hortyfruta hopes that it will give the produce of Andalalucia more recognition.

Managing director of Hortyfruta María José Pardo Losilla told FPJ: “In exhibiting at Fruit Logistica, we aimed to start promoting our new label Lola, which immediately reminds consumers of Spain because of the silhouette of a flamingo dancer. We have been working with the businesses we represent to create a marque so consumers can recognise the origin and the quality of the product.

“We are an advocate of clean farming, using bio-control and have many positive stories that we have to get out there. It will be launched in the UK on February 28, and extensive promotional activities will follow.”
