Three directors of the Spanish grower group Hortiberia based in Murcia have broken away to form their own sales organisation.

Managing director Fermín Sánchez and fellow directors Isaac Murcia and Teodoro Hernández set up Gruventa on 1 August in the Murcian town of Lorquí.

The new group’s main aim is “to consolidate robust commercial relationships with the major retailers through professional marketing of high quality fresh produce,” Sánchez said in a statement, adding that Gruventa will focus especially on retailers in the EU and eastern Europe.

The new group will not only market produce from Murcia, but from all the Spanish regions in order to give customers a full range of product throughout the year.
