Albert Bartlett’s rooster potato brand is to take to the small screen for the second period of its campaign with Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross.

Launching on 4 October and running until Christmas the new campaign see’s Cross again team up with her eager agent (actor David Shatraw) for a new project.

The story line follows on from last year’s commercial which saw the agent try to convince Marcia to appear in an Albert Bartlett Rooster Potato commercial.

In the new ad, TV star Marcia Cross is again being persuaded to front the potato campaign by her agent.

John Hicks, Albert Bartlett marketing manager, said: “We are delighted to be reuniting Marcia Cross and her on screen agent David Shatraw for a second campaign. Marcia’s debut in UK advertising had a fantastic impact last year, starring in our campaign which hit screens from September until Christmas 2009. Volume growth peaked at 135 per cent during the campaign and it helped the brand deliver growth of over 100 per cent in the 52 weeks ending 8 August 2010 [according to Kantar Worldpanel data].”

Hicks added: “This will also be the third TV commercial we have made with award-winning director Paul Weiland, Paul and our creative team have again delivered an advert which is fun, memorable and crucially delivers all our key messages. We continue to target younger consumers and this creative allows us to deliver on this while still being relevant to the core fresh potato customer.”
