Gateshead–based fresh produce supplier JR Holland Food Services is delighted to have won the contract for the stadium catering at Manchester's Commonwealth Games.

The company won the contract after it was put out for tender, and managing director John Holland told freshinfo: 'The contract was put out to tender a year ago and we won the bidding. Sodexho Prestige, who we supply, wanted one company to supply the whole of the Commonwealth Games – which is obviously impossible in our industry – so we joined together with Peacheys to supply the whole of the Games.' On what this means for his company, Holland added: 'We're absolutely delighted, it's a great honour to support the Commonwealth Games, and it has certainly helped the profile of our business. I've got to say that Sodexho are a great company to work with.'
