Some 1,500 professionals from 35 countries in the biotechnology sector are expected to take part in BIOSPAIN 2008. One of the most important events of the sector, the event will open its doors from September 17 to 19 in Granada’s Congress and Exhibition Centre, in Andalucía.

BIOSPAIN 2008 is structured into five modules that include a scientific congress called BIOTEC 2008, a series of plenary sessions in which international biotech experts will take part, a wide commercial exhibition, an investors forum, and an area for business development.

The event will also have a parallel programme consisting of conferences, presentations and technical lectures sponsored by companies and institutions, which will complete the activities of the event.

During the three-days researchers, companies, public institutions, financial organisations and other agents involved in the biotech development will establish contacts, create synergies, attract clients and investors, and present the innovations of a sector with excellent growth prospects.

The Spanish Association of Bioenterprises (ASEBIO) is organising the fourth edition of BIOSPAIN in collaboration with IDEA, the innovation and development agency for Andalusia; the Spanish Society of Biotechnology; the Spanish Agency for Attraction and Promotion of Foreign Investments (INTERES); GENOMA Spain; Farmaindustria; and Granada Health Science Technological Park.
