Each year, staff members choose a charity to benefit from fundraising efforts, and this year's recipient was a Christian charity in Cameroon.

The Higgins Group has provided the Cameroon charity with a supply of quality seed potatoes from Higgins' growers, as well as buying and shipping out a 4-wheel drive vehicle needed to distribute the seed to outlying villages and support the growers with basic agronomy advice.

Group managing director David Higgins said: 'I am proud of the effort that has gone into raising this money and I know that it will make an appreciable difference to the lives of many who do not have our advantages.'
