A key figure at one of Kent's biggest fruit importers has reached the final selection of the Runners World Asics Challenge.

Ivonne Goetsch, an amateur runner, has made it through to the prestigious competition's final four online vote. Whoever gets the most votes before the end of today (10 December) gets proper training, and entry to the Paris Marathon.

Goetsch, of DPS PLC, is currently about 500 votes short, but by following this link, you can give her your support with just the click of the 'thumbs up' logo next to her name.

Goetsch, 34, said:'Running runs deep in our family: my parents are both keen runners as well as my sister and all of them take part in races.

'I was always the ‘black sheep’ when it came to running; firstly because of medication, which I took to treat alopecia, and later because I enjoyed hiking more. However that soon changed.

'I hope to learn the mental strength to overcome the brick wall after two hours of running. I would be a happy soul in the team, always cheerful and trying to push others along to achieve the best we can.'
