Grocery delivery service Hello Fresh has been announced as the HP Smart Business of the Year 2012.
At the awards ceremony, UK companies were recognised for their achievements in one of six different sub-categories, with Hello Fresh receiving the overall award.
Hello Fresh works by offering customers unique weekly recipes and the option to have the exact amount of their ingredients delivered.
Launched five months ago as exclusive to London, the online service is now available nationwide.
Co-founder Pit Karbe is delighted with the award win and believes Hello Fresh is a unique alternative to the online shopping on offer from the major supermarkets.
“We believe that more people would enjoy cooking fresh meals at home, if only it was easier.
“Cooking shows on TV are enormously popular but it takes so much effort to actually buy all the necessary ingredients, many of which aren’t even stocked in supermarkets so we make it very easy for our customers to discover delicious food in their own homes by doing all the hard work for them,” concluded Karbe.
