The acquisition of Drax nursery will see the creation of a new company called Selby Salads which will produce capsicum and aubergines.
The nursery will undergo a £2million redevelopment to improve heating and irrigation systems and will be planted in phases from the beginning of January 2002. HOK Engineering and Ecotec Ltd will undertake the contract for this work.
The investment will secure the jobs of the 60 staff already employed at Drax.
