Stephen Hedderly has been appointed managing director at Bedfordshire Growers.
Hedderly joined Bedfordshire Growers in July 2013 as business development director, and brings to his new role a wealth of experience from the produce industry in boththe retail and supply environment.
A spokesperson for the the cooperative, said: 'The board would like to pay tribute to the outgoing managing director, Alastair Waters, who has guided the company successfully over the past four years. Alastair will remain with the company in the short term to lead the salad business.'
Bedfordshire Growers is a farming cooperative producing a range of crops, specifically alliums, potatoes and salads to a range of customers including supermarkets, processors and wholesale markets.
Hedderly joined Bedfordshire Growers from Abbey View Produce where he was technical director; previous to that he was business unit director at IVG White. He has also spent several years at Sainsbury’s in both technical and buying roles.
