Healthy menu planner launched in schools

A brand-new guide to help caterers, school meal providers and local authorities meet the government’s nutritional guidelines for school meals has been introduced by the British Potato Council.

Spuds Rule OK is packed with nutritional advice and tips on getting the most out of potatoes, and features a two-week menu planner for primary schools developed by the British Nutrition Foundation.

The menu planner suggests a main course dish, a dessert and a drink for lunchtimes from Monday to Friday, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

The booklet is free to caterers, local authorities and school meal providers.
