New year's healthy eating resolutions are already noticeable with in-store consumer behaviour, according to Waitrose.
Last week the supermarketbegan trialling a personal nutritionist service, designed to provide customers with dietary advice tailored specifically to their individual needs. The service is current being trialled in the Canary Wharf and Kingston-upon-Thames branches.
While sales excluding fuel were down 0.3 per cent compared to the same week last year, healthy products have done well. Pre-packed and fresh counter fish sales, for example, role by 10 and seven per cent respectively.
With a nod to spring, outdoor plant sales were also up a remarkable 44 per cent last week, with indoor plants sales up 10 per cent, reported supply chain director Wim van Aalst.
