Scott Raffle is to join the HDC communications team on June 26.
Raffle, known to the horticulture industry in the UK in his previous post as senior horticultural consultant for Adas for the past 12 years, will work within HDC’s perennial crop sectors to communicate the results of levy-funded research.
Colin Harvey, HDC chairman, said: “I am delighted that Scott is joining us - he clearly demonstrates the type of experience and core competencies which will help in delivering value for money to growers.”
Raffle, 37, has worked closely with the HDC on previous research projects, in addition to authoring several HDC publications and articles. He is also co-organiser of the annual Soft Fruit Conference.
His appointment follows the departure of Dr Susan Malone and internal reorganisation of duties between the technical and communications managers.
