Vegetable seed company Hazera is boosting its leek portfolio thanks to a new partnership with Syngenta.
The new agreement, which was effective from the start of this month, will see Hazera strengthen its position in the leek market, and develop new generations of hybrids with improvements in yield, processing and disease resistance.
New varieties from the programme will be targeted at markets including Spain, Germany, UK, France, Poland, Scandinavia and Benelux.
“Customers used to buying the varieties from Syngenta are able to find the full variety range at Hazera starting from 1 July,” a statement said.
“Additionally the names of varieties will stay the same, so customers are able to continue with their preferred varieties.”
