Soft-fruit grower and polytunnel specialist Haygrove Ltd has increased its group’s gross profit margin from 26 per cent to 35 per cent. Pre-tax profits were £3 million. Group turnover fell marginally from £31.8m to £31.5m in the 12-month period to 31 December 2009. Haygrove is reinvesting its profits in the business and has acquired a further two farming operations in South Africa as well as Haygrove Heaven Pty, which supplements Haygrove’s supplies of UK fruit to give continuity of supply year-round.
