Colin Harvey’s position as HDC chairman until March 31 2008 has been confirmed by Defra this week.
According to a government statement, the extension of Harvey’s position, the reappointment of 13 existing HDC members and the appointment of one further member is to ensure continuity and stability until the new levy board structure comes into being next April.
The other members concerned are Douglas Baird, Clive Baxter, Andrew Burgess, Peter Cornish, Philip Effingham, David Hand, Derek Jarman, Mark Komatsu, Teresa Mackay, Morris May, Simon Pearson, Peter Wensak, Roy Willingham and John Whitehead.
The position of HDC chair receives a salary of £36,507 paid by the council for a three day per week commitment, while council members are paid £100 per council meeting.
