Hairyape gains a voice

Hairyape has introduced a new service for the fresh produce trade which integrates internet telephony with spam-free mail, consignment and document flow management.

The hairyape.chatterbox service uses VoIP - the voice over internet protocol which enables online voice communications through an internet connection - to provide the hairyape registered-user network with 24-hour interconnectivity, without interfering with conventional telephone services.

Chatterbox combines the lowest Internet bandwidth consumption with high quality and stable voice transmission at less than £2 a week for unlimited worldwide calls, the company claimed.

“This is the first industry-specific communications system in the world. It could save the fresh produce industry worldwide an enormous amount of money and places it in pole position in terms of a global business communications portal,” said Hairyape founder Martin Clifford.

“The client programme (user interface) combines one-to-one or conference calls with the ability to undertake the simultaneous preparation and exchange of text, data and documents, such as consignment offers and acceptances.

“The service has been designed to achieve effective savings for all levels of the trade at a time of decreasing profit margins. At last, something to reduce expenses,” he said.

The Hairyape.chatterbox service uses the Navatec-Voyager, an advanced internet client platform supplied by Navatec.com the online business applications service provider.

“Some 80 per cent of fresh produce industry telephone calls are made to the same business associates, sometimes several times a day. The larger proportion of daily contacts made, the greater the cost savings.

“For this reason Hairyape encourages traders to sign up in groups of business partners so all can enjoy the immediate cost and business performance benefits,” Clifford said.
