Hadlow College is launching its fruit apprenticeships with a celebratory Flying the Flag for Fruit event next month.
Guests are invited on 16 October to the college in Kent to an evening champagne reception to meet sponsors and employers in the groundbreaking scheme.
Under the new three-year initiative, entrants will be trained for supervisory and middle management roles with prospects for further progress in the fruit industry.
The apprentices will be paid directly by their employers throughout the three years and successful apprentices will enjoy the guarantee of a job at the end of their training.
The scheme has been devised and structured with the help of leading fruit producers and is a privately sponsored programme with each sponsor providing £10,000 per apprentice. The selection process includes interviews with sponsors, employers and Hadlow College personnel.
