Growers in Guernsey will have to wait until September to learn their fate regarding whether they will continue to receive financial aid from the island parliament over the next five years.
A special white paper drawn up for discussion at the end of July is now on hold, as the members of the house did not have enough time to discuss before their summer recess.
The island's growers remain confident that support will continue, especially as a recent statistical report forecasts an increased export turnover of the industry of £45.5 million.
