Sarah Shropshire of G's Marketing shows off the company's two awards

G’s Marketing received two awards at the Ideas to Dine For! Competition 2004.

The competition, which is sponsored by Food from Britain, recognises quality and integrity in speciality food and drink producers.

Their first award was for their simply salad snack pots. The pots are a fresh and convenient solution to food on the move, with crunchy fresh celery or carrots in a pot complete with a creamy dip. The celery comes with a sour cream and chive dip, while the carrots have a thousand island dip. Both of the products retail at 99p and are available from Budgens. Sarah Shropshire of G’s Marketing said: “These products are a modern alternative to snack products available and consumers are looking for healthy options.”

The company’s second award was for the simply salad mild beetroot range. The mild range of fresh cooked beetroot has been specially developed to give wider appeal with a milder more natural taste using malt or wine vinegars to enhance the beetroot flavours including a traditional beetroot dipped in malt vinegar. Shropshire said: “There are also additional lines in the range. The gourmet beetroot is a baby beetroot dipped in white wine vinegar and orange blossom honey. Golden beetroot is a heritage variety with comes sliced and dipped in red wine vinegar and honey.”

Rick Stein presented the winners with their awards. He said: “This year we had over 140 entries in Ideas to Dine For! And the calibre of entries was exemplary. I found the whole experience fascinating with lots of exciting foods that I wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to try.”

All the winning products will be on display at Food and Drink Expo at the Birmingham NEC from March 14 - 17.
