An analysis of international attendance at PMA's Fresh Summit 2002 in New Orleans revealed that non-US attendance levels were the highest ever for the association's annual tradeshow and convention.

Non-US participants accounted for 17.3 per cent of total attendees, representing 59 countries. A comparison of participant demographics from Fresh Summit 2002 to the previous year revealed that attendance from Latin America increased 24 per cent, from Europe, 55 per cent; from Asia, 96 per cent; and from Australia/New Zealand, 267 per cent.

The growing international presence at Fresh Summit is due in part to the expanded global outreach PMA began several years ago. Last year, PMA held regional programs, leadership meetings, and participated in industry events in The Netherlands, Spain, Uruguay, Chile, Germany, Mexico, and Hong Kong.
