Around 400 schoolchildren have been introduced to potato growing thanks to a Grow Your Own initiative hosted by Produce World and the East of England Agricultural Society.
After attending a planting day at the East of England Showground, the children will return in June to see how their potatoes have grown and take part in a weigh-in.
Produce World’s Rachel Ilgunas said: “This is our fourth year of involvement with the Kids Country Grow Your Own Potatoes event and it was another great planting day with hundreds of local children taking part.
“The anticipation of Harvest Day on 8th June was already setting in with our young growers!”
