Dutch fresh produce supplier The Greenery has announced the purchase of all the shares of Fresh Produce Services, in Paddock Wood, Kent. The company was already a supplier of Greenery products to the multiples. The Greenery said in a statement, that the acquisition fits its strategy of direct supply to the UK multiples. FPS specialises in fruit supplies.

The Greenery has also added another Dutch string to its bow with plans to acquire the remaining shares in trading company Jover Beheer. It already owns 34 per cent of the company. The acquisition of Jover would be an important step for The Greenery giving it a larger fruit offer as the firm is a market leader in top fruit and strawberries and is based in the Breda area.

Both acquisitions demonstrate a commitment by The Greenery to increase its market share of fruit supply.
