Goodbye to Goodway as Karin retires

Karin Goodway has retired after 20 years at Lockwood Press, publisher of the Fresh Produce Journal.

Sister of chairman, David Hope-Mason, she joined the company as credit controller before moving on to become commercial director.

Latterly she has been responsible for the subscriptions department, a role that is now taken on by Patsy Holmes.

Goodway said: “The family connection was obviously the reason why I joined Lockwood Press and I’m pleased to leave my day-to-day involvement with that still in place.

“There has been a huge change in the marketplace during my time here - most notably of course the rise and domination of the supermarkets.

“However, if anything, I believe this has strengthened the Fresh Produce Journal’s position as a vital source of information for an increasingly competitive fresh produce industry.

“I will spend my retirement between Surrey and primarily Dorset, where I intend to do a lot of walking,” she said.

“But I will certainly maintain an interest in the company and also my seat on the board of directors.”

The team at the Journal would like to wish Karin all the very best for a long and happy retirement.
