Bagged-salad brand Lasting Leaf has received the official Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) endorsement.

The endorsement is only awarded to products and brands that have undergone a rigorous testing process, and Lasting Leaf is said to be the first UK salad range to get the nod.

Lasting Leaf now has the green light to use the Good Housekeeping Institute Approved 2013 logo on its new pack design, online and in its marketing and PR.

Melanie Dean, marketing manager for Lasting Leaf, said: “We are thrilled to have been accepted and endorsed by the GHI. Our salads are high quality and in all the GHI tests performed very well, staying fresh in the fridge for seven days unopened and two days once opened.

“The panel consisted of in-house experts as well as consumers, who bought products in stores to reflect ‘real life’ purchasing. The GHI is such a well-recognised quality stamp that this clear endorsement will not only help to highlight Lasting Leaf’s ‘longer lasting’ proposition, but will also boost sales.”

Trisha Schofield, head of testing at the GHI, added: “We were very impressed that the salad remained fresh and crisp even after seven days.'
