Importer Gomez has added Jersey to its list of quality sources for its Gomez Reserv™ range for the non-supermarket sector.

Jersey growers will now provide into Gomez’s Beautiful and Tasty Tomato on the Vine line for the premium brand.

Gomez, which has been shortlisted for the Re:fresh FPJ Marketing Campaign of the Year award, has already enjoyed success with its tomato-on-the vine from Spain and now La Chasse Nurseries on Jersey has become the first British supplier to the brand. It is initially providing truss tomatoes, but is keen, with other growers in the family, to help develop new premium products for Gomez Reserv™.

Paul Blake, md of La Chasse Nurseries, said: “It’s an extremely exciting project and we are thrilled about working with Gomez and its family of growers, to bring innovative premium products to the Gomez Reserv™ range.”

The new line features “Jersey Tomatoes” printed on the box, and as part of its marketing drive, gomezreserv.com, is also carried on all new packaging designs.

The produce from Jersey will run until September and complements the Spanish tomato supplies available in the range to give year-round
