Waitrose is jazzing up its tomato category with the introduction of “go faster” stripes on the fruit.
Exclusive to the retailer, the Tiger’s Soul tomato features red and yellow skin and is a vintage variety grown on the Isle of Wight.
The two-tone tomatoes will be priced at £1.79 a punnet, and buyer Jackie Wharton said: “This rare variety is bound to add some colour to dinner plates across the UK.”
