New Zealand kiwifruit marketer Zespri and Kiwifruit Vine Health (KVH) are spearheading a global R&D programme to protect the NZ kiwifruit industry from the vine disease Psa.
Some 50 different projects will focus on detection of the disease. Zespri CEO Lain Jager said by the end of this financial year, over NZ$4.6 million (£2.3m) of collective funding, including government cash, will have been invested.
