John Woods nurseries will launch its new business at the forthcoming Glee trade show in Birmingham.

The nursery was bought from Notcutts, and is run by the company’s former managing director, John Lord, and financy director John Kirkum.

The nursery was named after John Woods, the grower who established the nursery in 1749 before the Notcutt family bought it in 1897. “The name reinforces the heritage of our business, and complements our investment in people, production facilities and technology which allows us to develop further our customer focus and ultimately drive the business forward,” said Lord.

At the show, the nursery will be giving a live demonstration of their ‘Plant Buyer’s Tool Kit’, an online resource which allows garden centre customers to print their own point of sale materials from a variety of designs and with their own logo.

The nursery will also be exhibiting a range of plants, including ‘Terrace Treasures’, a new range for the patio, sold in ceramic pots. Also at the show will be a soft fruit range, and the ‘Mattocks’ gift range of roses.

A second stand at the show will exhibit the ‘Endless Summer’ Hydrangea collection, which flowers in late summer and autumn.
