Sir Ben Gill will give a European farmer's perspective on how European farm policy is changing in ways that will help to solve global food and trade problems at the global agribusiness conference in Argentina on July 28.

The NFU president will give the address entitled 'Agricultural Negotiations at the World Trade Organisation – a European Perspective'. NFU president Sir Ben will outline the essential ingredients of the CAP reforms, which break the link between production and support, making European farm support less trade distorting.

He said: 'I will be making it very clear that the EU has now determined its position in the forthcoming WTO talks. The reforms of the CAP have drawn a line in the sand as to how far the EU is prepared to go. It is now the turn of others to face the reality of change.'
