German software company GWS was exhibiting its latest offering at Fruit Logistica last week.

“For us, this fair is the industry’s real meeting place and that is why we are here again this year,” said marketing manager, Frank Thiel.

The company, using Navision, has worked with the industry to create a product called Gevis.

Among the features offered by this software are accounting for producers, administration of batches and lots, tender management, administration of trading categories, commissioning, stock management, pool price accounting, support for telephone sales and integrated calculations and a document management system.

“Our development work is always carried out in association with customers and other firms in a particular sector,” said Helmut Benefader, general manager.

“Development is not only undertaken for the sector but within the sector too. We believe that this is the only way to arrive at solutions for the industry.”
