Edeka Fruchtkontor, part of the German retail giant Edeka has become the first of the group's five fresh produce units to sign an agreement to install the VFM I-Deal trade management system.
A statement said: “VFM I-Deal is a web service concept which will strengthen Edeka's market overview by way of structuring information from its suppliers. With I-Deal, Edeka is able to integrate seamlessly with its suppliers at very low cost compared to traditional methods and to be operational in just a few weeks.”
Fred Hofman, managing director, Edeka Fruchtkontor, said: “Edeka is always looking for possibilities to improve its trading processes and become more efficient. With VFM I-Deal we will have a more structured overview of our supplier's offers, which at the end of the day means that we will trade more efficiently and with less paperwork involved.”
