The money will be split between the market's two chosen causes, the Trinity Hospice in Clapham and the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
Chairman Philip Emanuel welcomed tenants of the market and guests to the Copthorne Hotel Effingham Park in West Sussex on May 11. The evening's fund-raising included a bingo game to win a week's holiday in Kenya and a raffle.
Addressing guests at the dinner, Emanuel said business at the market had felt the effects of September 11, particularly the catering sector. He added while the closure of the Mash/Roe group had caused further strain, trade had recovered well.
Guests of the tenants association included representatives of London's other horticultural wholesale markets, the Fresh Produce Consortium and the Covent Garden Market Authority.
